Shabana Re-signs As Eye Launch New Legend Racket Series

Egyptian four-time World Champion Amr Shabana, one of the most gifted squash players of all time, has signed a new three-year ambassadorial contract with Eye Rackets.

The ‘Maestro’, who made history by becoming the first Egyptian ever to win the World Championship in 2003 before going on to become the first Egyptian World No.1, spending a total of 33-months at the summit of the world rankings, originally signed with Eye in 2013 with his first trademark frame, the X-Lite 120 Control, quickly becoming the best selling Eye Racket of all time.

Exactly ten years since Shabana’s historic reign as World No.1 ended, Eye Rackets have agreed a new three-year deal with the iconic player that will see his signature racket undergo a transformation as part of a brand new 2019 Legend Series range - aiming to honour so of the sports greatest ever players.

Shabana’s racket, which will be revamped and the first racket in the new Legend Series alongside, six-time British Open Champion and Squash Great Jonah Barrington.

“Since first partnering with Eye back in 2013 I have been constantly impressed with the company’s vision for squash and the quality of the products,” said Shabana.

“They are a brand constantly looking to innovate on design and style without compromising quality - while their colours and vibrancy helped bring a new cool look into squash over the past five years."
